Mangaluru, Jun 14: Dr Thunga’s Manaswini Hospital, the only dedicated mental health facility in Dakshina Kannada, conducted a mental health and workplace stress management awareness programme for CISF personnel at Mangaluru International Airport.

Held at the CISF campus in Bajpe, the session focused on emotional resilience, managing work-related stress, and recognizing early signs of burnout among security staff.

Key speakers:

Dr George Sebastian, consultant psychiatrist, offered insights on anxiety, stress, sleep issues, and burnout.

Shashikala B, counsellor & community services coordinator, led practical sessions on coping strategies, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness techniques.

The interactive programme saw active participation from CISF personnel, highlighting the human challenges faced in high-pressure roles. Officers shared experiences of stress, especially during shift work and constant surveillance duty.

The initiative is part of Dr Thunga’s Manaswini Hospital’s ongoing community outreach under the leadership of Dr Ravisha Thunga, medical director, who stressed the need for mental wellness in high-stress professions.
