Mangalore, Jan 26: The beach at Panambur bore a festive look on Tuesday January 24, the third day of ‘Bal Bharat Srujanotsav’ organized under the aegis of the state Bala Bhavana Society. Thousands of students from across the nation were immersed in their world during the ‘Nanda Gokula Beach Utsav’ held here on Tuesday afternoon.

Some of the students who arrived here from landlocked states were happy to relish every moment on the seashore.

The students were mesmerized by the Arabian Sea and some of them played in the water, under the watchful eye of the life guards. The students created an imaginary sculpture all over the sand along the sea shore, which was testimony to the unity in diversity. They enjoyed viewing kites in the sky and also tried to fly kites. Kites in the shape of cricket bat, penguins, and lamps that were flying in the sky were a real treat for the eyes besides the romantic sunset.

Legislative council deputy speaker Yogish Bhat inaugurated the cultural extravaganza on the stage set up on the beach.

Sandalwood actors Sunil Puranik, state Bala Bhavana Society president Sulochan  Bhat, Jagdish Shenava, and ZP CEO Vijay Prakash were present on the occasion. The cultural extravaganza of Harayana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and other states including Karnataka, were staged by the students.

“I am fond of children and the coastal residents are friendly..,” said movie actor Sunil Puranik, while addressing media persons at Beach Utsav of Bal Bharath Srujanotsav here on Tuesday. “I hardly miss any children’s programmes. I have been engaged in acting and directing movies for the past 26 years. I have produced several movies that interest children. I love the company of children,” he added.

“Coastal residents are friendly and hospitable, which makes me want to come here, whenever I am invited to attend any programme in the city. I feel I should have come two days earlier to be with the children,” said Sunl. He expressed happiness at viewing the Kambala in Pilikula and children’s other activities. The programme has given a chance to children from across the country to exhibit their inherent talents and the cultural hierarchy of their respective states.

State Bala Bhavana Society president Sulochan Bhat was present on the occasion.
Sandalwood actor Ramesh participated in the Srujanotsav on Tuesday. Ramesh was welcomed by the drummers’ troupe from Kerala on the seashore. He also tried his hand at drums which was appreciated by the audience with thundering applause.

Addressing media persons, Ramesh said that his forthcoming Kannada movie ‘Nammanna Don’, based on health concerns of children, will be released on Friday February 10. He has given a chance to the children from the slums to exhibit their talent. The movie advises not to neglect the health concerns of the children. He has been cast in the role of Dr Arjun in the movie.

The heroines of the movie Mona Parvari and Sanatini were present on the occasion.
