India issues fresh safety advisory for citizens in Israel as Iran-Israel conflict escalates

New Delhi, Jun 14: As tensions between Iran and Israel continue to spiral, the Indian Embassy in Israel has issued a new safety advisory for Indian nationals residing in the country. The advisory follows intensified missile attacks and the launch of Israel’s military offensive, ‘Operation Rising Lion’, aimed at countering the Iranian threat.

Taking to social media platform X, the official Indian Embassy handle @indemtel urged all Indian citizens in Israel to remain alert and strictly adhere to local safety protocols issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command.

“In light of the evolving regional situation, all Indian nationals in Israel are advised to remain vigilant, follow safety instructions from local authorities, avoid non-essential travel, and stay close to designated shelters,” the advisory said.

The Embassy also shared emergency contact details for Indian citizens needing assistance:

The heightened caution comes amid a sharp escalation in military activity. On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally briefed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the situation. “Received a phone call from PM Netanyahu… I shared India’s concerns and emphasised the need for early restoration of peace and stability,” Modi posted on X following the conversation.

Netanyahu’s office confirmed he had also spoken to leaders of Germany, France, the UK, Russia, and the United States to build global support for Israel’s military actions, which he claims are essential for national survival amid Iranian threats.

In the early hours of Saturday, nearly 100 missiles were launched from Iran targeting central and northern Israel in two separate salvos. According to the Israeli military and the national emergency medical service Magen David Adom (MDA), the attacks left at least 41 people injured. This included two in critical condition, two with moderate injuries, and several others suffering from light injuries and trauma-related symptoms.

Iranian state media later confirmed the missile strikes as part of a broader military response, further fueling the already volatile conflict.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) acknowledged the attack, confirming that a new barrage had been launched but withheld specifics regarding the number and intended targets of the missiles.

With the situation rapidly evolving, India has reiterated its commitment to the safety of its citizens abroad while continuing diplomatic outreach aimed at de-escalation.
