Decomposed Body Found in French Bank's AC Vent

London, Jan 26 (IANS): A decomposed body, apparently that of a robber, has been found inside the air-conditioning vent of a French bank.

Staff at the Credit Foncier bank in Lyon were complaining since last September of a "bad smell". Workmen were called and a man's decomposing body was found trapped inside the 50-cm-wide air-conditioning shaft, the Daily Express reported.

"It may be the body of an unlucky burglar who got stuck, but it could also be that of a homeless man seeking shelter," said Lyon prosecutor Marc Desert.

No money was found on the body, which suggests that the victim died on his way into the bank and not on the way out, officials said.
