Mahoba, Jun 16: In a heart-wrenching road tragedy, five lives were lost and three sustained grievous injuries following a head-on collision between a speeding car and a motorcycle near Nanoura village under the Srinagar police station limits in Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Circle Officer Ravikant Gond, the mishap occurred when a high-speed car lost control after a tyre burst and rammed into an oncoming motorcycle. The impact of the crash was so severe that it left all three motorcycle riders — residents of Kulpahar, Mahoba — dead on the spot.

The collision also claimed the lives of the car's driver and one of its passengers. The remaining three occupants were rushed to the district hospital in critical condition.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that both vehicles were travelling at speeds exceeding 80 km/h. The car, after veering out of control, reportedly dragged the motorcycle for nearly 20 metres, leaving behind a trail of devastation.
Senior police and administrative officials, including Superintendent of Police Prabal Pratap Singh, promptly arrived at the accident site and later visited the hospital to monitor the treatment of the injured.
A sombre atmosphere prevailed at the scene as locals and family members gathered in shock, with mangled remains of both vehicles scattered across the blood-stained road.
The deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations, while the police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter. Preliminary reports suggest overspeeding and possible negligence may have been contributing factors to the horrific crash.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution, stressing that reckless driving continues to cost precious lives on the roads of Uttar Pradesh.
