Bantwal: Youth missing for two days found dead in pond

Bantwal, June 16: A youth who had gone missing two days ago was found dead in a pond at Ammunje in Bantwal taluk on Monday, June 16.

The deceased has been identified as Sagar (28), a resident of Ammunje.

Sagar, who worked as a painter, had accompanied his mother to B C Road on June 14. While returning around 5 pm, he got down from an auto near Benzalapadavu Three Roads junction but never returned home. A missing person’s complaint had been filed at the Bantwal Rural police station.

On Monday, his body was found in a pond near Vidyanagar High School Road. Police suspect he may have slipped and fallen or possibly died due to substance consumption.

A case has been registered at Bantwal Rural police station.
