Darshan H V named Dakshina Kannada DC; Swaroopa T K to take charge of Udupi in major IAS reshuffle

Bengaluru, June 17: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Government of Karnataka has transferred the deputy commissioners (DCs) of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, appointing new officers with immediate effect.

Mullai Muhilan M P, IAS (2013), deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district has been posted as inspector general of registration and commissioner of stamps, Bengaluru. He will be succeeded by Darshan H V, IAS (2016), who previously served as additional commissioner for commercial taxes (service analysis wing), Bengaluru.

In Udupi, Vidyakumari K, IAS, has been relieved from her duties as DC. Swaroopa T K, IAS (2012), who was serving as director, e-governance in the rural development and panchayat raj department, Bengaluru, has been appointed the new deputy commissioner of Udupi.

The changes are part of a broader reshuffle involving 17 IAS officers across Karnataka, as per the government notification (No. e-DPAR 197 SAS 2025) issued on Tuesday. All transfers take immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.

Both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are among Karnataka’s key coastal districts, known for their developmental challenges and administrative significance. The newly appointed deputy commissioners are expected to assume office shortly.
