Mangaluru, Jun 18: St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru, celebrated Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha) with reverence and joy on June 17, bringing together everyone in a spirit of unity and gratitude.
For students of classes VI to XII, the celebration featured a meaningful address by the chief guest, P C Hashir, managing director of Peeci Group and proud parent of P C Tanisha of class X A. He highlighted Eid-ul-Adha as a symbol of unwavering faith and trust in God.














The principal, Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ, encouraged students to live by the values of compassion, unity and brotherhood. The programme commenced with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome from Avika Joshi of Class VII B.
Students representatives shared the significance of the festival, reflecting on themes of faith, obedience, and sacrifice. A soulful song and a graceful dance added cultural vibrancy to the event. The vote of thanks was delivered by Roshita Sunil of Class VI A.
Meanwhile, students of classes I to V also celebrated Bakrid on 18 June, with great enthusiasm during the assembly. Their programme was graced by chief guest Dr Ibrahim Khaleel, consultant in preventive medicine, cosmetic surgeon, endodontist, and parent of Ifza Khadeeja Haleema of class II B.
He emphasized the message of overcoming evil through steadfast faith in God. The celebrations not only provided a platform for cultural expression but also reinforced values of empathy, tolerance and mutual respect. Classes II B, V C, VI A, VII B conducted the programme. Vice-principals Laurel D’Souza and Aparna Suresh were present on the occasion. The programme was coordinated by Ashwini Lewis, Precilla Sequeira, Beena Pais, and Rashmi.
