Odisha, Jun 19: A 31-year-old woman in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha was allegedly gang-raped by four men, marking the third such incident in the state within three days.

According to the victim's husband, four men known to the family entered their home under the Baripada Sadar police station's jurisdiction on Monday night while other family members were absent. The assailants reportedly forced the woman to another location within a different police station's jurisdiction, where they took turns raping her.

Aditya Prasad Jena, Inspector-in-Charge of Baripada Sadar police station, stated that the victim identified all four men, who are currently at large. A team has been assembled to apprehend the accused. Jena added that the perpetrators threatened the woman's life if she reported the incident.

The woman is currently in stable condition at a government hospital.

This incident follows two other reported gang rapes in Odisha. On Sunday, a college student was allegedly gang-raped on Gopalpur beach, leading to the arrest of 10 individuals, including four minors. Additionally, a 17-year-old girl in the Keonjhar district was allegedly gang-raped, killed, and then hanged from a tree on Tuesday.
