Udupi, Jan 27: District superintendent of police Y S Ravikumar handed over the charge of his office on Thursday January 26, immediately after his transfer order was received. He has been posted as the superintendent of police of Dharwad district.

A farewell function was organized at the office of the superintendent of police on Thursday evening. At the function, Kundapur assistant superintendent of police, Ram Niwas Sepat, who has been promoted and posted as superintendent of police of Kolar district, was also congratulated.

Additional superintendent of police, M V Venkateshappa, presided over the function. Deputy superintendents of police, Jayant V Shetty and Santosh Kumar, district police office AAO, Chandrashekhar Shetty, inspector, H D Kulkarni, Manmohan of wireless section, various police inspectors and sub-inspectors from across the district participated in the function.

Sources said that Dr M B Boralingaiah, who has been appointed in place of Ravikumar, will take charge on Friday.
