Kasargod, Jun 19: A clash between students occurred in Kumble on June 19 evening, resulting in the arrest of one youth. The incident took place around 4.30 pm and involved students from Class 10 and Plus Two (PUC), with reports indicating that an external group also joined the fight.

Police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control. The arrested individual has been identified as Ismail Riyaz (20) from near Uppala Gate.

According to police sources, preliminary investigations have identified around 15 students and 10 individuals from outside who were involved in the incident. Further inquiry is underway.

The altercation occurred on the Kumble market road. Shopkeepers and fish vendors tried to intervene and calm the situation, but when their efforts failed, they alerted the police. Officers dispersed the crowd and restored order.

Similar incidents had been reported earlier in Kumble town, and this appears to be a repeat. The clash is said to have erupted over a minor issue. Police are continuing their investigation, particularly focusing on the involvement of students.
