Mangaluru, Jun 21: Expert PU College, Kodialbail, radiated energy, calm, and creativity on Saturday, June 21, as it celebrated the Eleventh International Yoga and World Music Day. Guided by the global theme “Yoga for one earth, one health,” the event offered a refreshing blend of tradition and innovation, celebrating not just movement and music, but the connection between the two.
The event began with the dignified lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising a passage into wellness and awareness. Distinguished personalities, including Yoga Guru Yogarathna Gopalakrishna Delampady, IT director of the Expert Group of Institutions Ankush N Nayak, principal Prof Ramachandra Bhat, and student representatives joined hands to set the tone for a day steeped in mindfulness and music.

In his keynote address, Ankush said, “The college proudly celebrates World Music Day, and we’re happy to blend music with yoga to create a richer, more uplifting experience.”
Delampady, on the other hand, emphasised that “Yoga is not a work-out but a work-in,” pointing to its power in nurturing both mental peace and physical strength.
What truly set this celebration apart was the brilliant fusion of yoga and music in perfect harmony. As Guru Delampady led students through a series of yoga postures in the calm atmosphere of the Expodium, Ankush N Nayak infused the space with the tranquil strains of live sitar that gently flowed with each movement. The soft melodies matched the rhythm of the session, creating an experience that was not just physical but deeply calming and enriching.
The momentum continued with observance of World Music Day, where music was honoured not only as entertainment but as a medium of healing and joy. The dual celebration highlighted the college’s dedication to nurturing both body and soul through the universal languages of movement and music.
