Two held for sheltering Pahalgam terrorists, confirms NIA

Srinagar, Jun 22: In a significant breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday announced the arrest of two individuals accused of sheltering terrorists involved in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives.

The arrests come just weeks after the NIA, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and central paramilitary forces, conducted raids at 32 locations across the Valley, including Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Sopore and Kupwara.

According to officials familiar with the matter, the targeted raids focused on overground workers believed to have links with Pakistan-based terror outfits. While the NIA had not initially specified a direct link to the Pahalgam attack, sources said the crackdown forms part of a broader probe into banned terrorist organisations and their affiliates—based on a case registered two years ago.

The arrests mark a key development in the investigation into one of the deadliest attacks in recent years in Jammu and Kashmir.
