Mangaluru, Jun 23: The Institute of Port, Shipping, and Logistics Management, Srinivas University, organized a grand inaugural ceremony on June 21 to mark the commencement of various institutional forums and cells for the academic year 2025–2026.
These include:
• Management forum
• Cultural forum
• NSS unit
• Women’s cell
• Sports unit
• Placement and training cell
• Industry interaction cell
The event was inaugurated by Vivek Vijay Kumar, a distinguished professional and motivational speaker, and Dr Venkatesh S Amin, a renowned academician and key administrative figure in the university. Their presence added immense value and inspiration to the occasion.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the spread of knowledge and positivity. This was followed by a welcome address delivered by the director of the institute, who highlighted the objectives and importance of each forum in shaping a holistic educational environment for students.
Vivek Vijay Kumar, in his inaugural address, emphasized the importance of student participation in extracurricular and co-curricular activities. He encouraged students to actively engage with the forums to develop leadership, teamwork, and professional skills beyond academics.
Dr Venkatesh S Amin also addressed the gathering, stressing the university’s commitment to offering a well-rounded educational experience through various initiatives like the NSS unit and Women’s Cell, which aim to build socially responsible and empowered individuals.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of faculty members, student coordinators, and invited guests. Light refreshments were served following the ceremony.
The inauguration was a great success, laying a strong foundation for a dynamic and activity-filled academic year ahead at the Institute of Port, Shipping, and Logistics Management, Srinivas University.
