Udupi, Jun 24: The accused in sending bomb threat email to school of Udupi City has been apprehend by Ahmedabad City cyber crime branch police.
The accused Rene Joshilda, a Chennai based electrical engineer and a senior consultant at a IT firm used fake email ID and fake social media profiles to send these threat emails. She was traced in sending these emails across states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Kerala, Bihar, Telangana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana.

A total of 21 threatening emails were tracked across these organizations.
The accused had been creating fake email IDs, using VPNs, virtual numbers, and dark web tools to send bomb threat emails to intimidate and cause panic.In response to a complaint lodged by Vishnubhai Chamanbhai Khakhadiya concerning a threatening email received at Geneva Liberal School, Sarkhej, Cyber Crime Branch teams swung into action under the leadership and guidance of Shri Sharad Singhal, Joint Commissioner of Police; Dr. Lavina Sinha, Deputy Commissioner of Police; and Shri Hardik Makadia, Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The Cyber Crime Branch carried out a thorough technical analysis, including human intelligence and cyber tools, which led them to the accused Rene Joshilda residing in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. On gathering concrete evidence, a team was dispatched to Chennai, where they successfully apprehended the accused. Legal proceedings have been initiated.
Responding to the arrest, Udupi SP Hariram Shankar said, "We will write to Ahemdabad police to handover the accused to us for investigation. Once the investigation by Ahmedabad police is over we expect her to handover to us".
