Mangaluru, Jun 26: The Investiture Ceremony for the student cabinet members for the academic year 2025–26 was held with fervor and enthusiasm at St Agnes PU College on June 26. The event began on a solemn note with a mellifluous prayer song, invoking blessings for the year ahead. This was followed by a graceful welcome dance by Kavyashree and group that set an upbeat tone for the day.

Mishel Pereira effusively welcomed the gathering, after which the ceremonial lighting of the lamp took place, signifying the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of wisdom.

The chief guest, Dr Sr Maria Roopa AC, joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions, addressed the students with an inspiring talk that amplified the values of leadership, responsibility, and personal growth, encouraging students to bloom to their full potential while reaching for the stars.

Akshara Thanmayi introduced the class representatives and assistant class representatives, and introduction of the newly elected student cabinet was done by Diya Dechamma.

The highlight of the occasion was the oath administered by the principal Sr Norine D’Souza. The cabinet members and class representatives pledged to uphold the values of integrity, responsibility, and service.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sathwika Bhat, expressing gratitude to all those who made the event successful.

Shamitha Rao efficiently anchored the event and ensured its smooth flow.

The cabinet inaugural, themed “Wings and blooms”, truly captured the essence of youth leadership - signifying the freedom to grow and the courage to take on challenges head-on and persevere through tough times. PTA vice president Dr Divya Damodhar, vice principal Sr Janet Sequeira, Shobha HOD, Dept of biology, staff, students and parents were an integral part of the occasion.

The entire solemn event was ably organized by the faculty of biology and home science department.
