Dubai, Jun 26: After presenting a series of blockbuster events like Nihal Tauro Live, Kala Saanz, and Kala Sangam, USWAS-Shirva is all set to dazzle audiences once again with its much-awaited mega event — Kala Utsav 2025.
To be held on Saturday October 4, at the prestigious Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Dubai, Kala Utsav promises a spectacular blend of soulful music and rib-tickling comedy, featuring a stellar line-up of performers.

Wilfy Nite – Golden Melodies Live in UAE, a grand tribute event honoring the legendary Konkani singer, composer, and poet Wilfy Rebimbus. Join us for an unforgettable evening as Wilfy Rebimbus’s family, along with renowned singers and musicians, bring his timeless golden melodies back to life on stage, celebrating the rich musical legacy that touched hearts across generations.
Adding to the excitement, celebrity comedian Jimmy Moses will take center stage to deliver an evening packed with laughter and nonstop entertainment.
Kala Utsav Launch Event – A Grand Beginning
The official launch of Kala Utsav was held on Saturday, June 21, at Grand Excelsior, Al Mankhool led by USWAS president Ronald Correa, the event featured the unveiling of the teaser, poster, and tickets.
The evening commenced with a moment of silence and a hymn in honor of the patron Saud Mai. A heartfelt tribute was paid to the late founder member, Sharan D’Souza, whose legacy continues to inspire the USWAS family.
President Ronald Correa warmly welcomed patrons and well-wishers, emphasizing the timeless value of community spirit and the proverb, ‘In unity is strength’.
The 23 years of comprehensive activities and impact of USWAS were eloquently presented by the secretary Vilma Saldanha, highlighting the providing support in education, medical aid, assistance for house construction, helping with marriages of the economically weaker sections, empowering the Shirva community through numerous social, cultural, and charitable initiatives and preserve Konkani heritage.
Kala Utsav 2025: Teaser, Poster, Ticket & Photo Frame Launch Event
The excitement for Kala Utsav 2025 officially kicked off with a vibrant and well-organized launch ceremony where USWAS-Shirva proudly unveiled the teaser, event poster, ticket, and commemorative photo frame in the presence of distinguished guests and well-wishers.
The Highlights of the Events:
• Teaser Launch
The grand announcement of Kala Utsav began with the teaser launch by Francis & Juliana D’Souza of Frenica Marine Electro Mechanical Contracting LLC symbolizing the official unveiling of this much-awaited cultural celebration.
• Poster Release
The elegant Kala Utsav poster was released by Franky D’Souza, Joseph Mathias (Pilar), Lavina Quadros, Godwin Aranha and George Saldanha of Delmon Group of Companies.
• Ticket Release
The Kala Utsav ticket was ceremoniously launched by Dayan D’Souza (Mukamar), Reena Menezes of Omnitec Security Systems LLC, Thomas D’Souza of Master Express Elevators LLC, Alan Rodrigues,and Crispin Dominic of Action Films.
• Photo Frame Reveal
The custom Kala Utsav photo frame, capturing the spirit of the event, was revealed by Dony Correa (Pernal), Preema Rodrigues D’Souza and Rathan Castelino.
Words of Encouragement
Franky D’Souza, founder president of USWAS-Shirva, took the stage to share the inspiring journey of USWAS, expressing immense joy over the growth and impact of the association both in the UAE and back in Shirva. He acknowledged the blessings of Our Lady of Health, the group’s patron, for guiding both his personal growth and the association's progress. He extended full support to Kala Utsav and encouraged everyone to contribute to making the event a full house success.
Dayan D’Souza (Mukamar), a long-standing supporter of USWAS, delivered a heartfelt address on behalf of the Konkani community. He applauded the association for its unwavering commitment to promoting Konkani culture, supporting artists, and spearheading community welfare initiatives. Expressing his joy at the return of the beloved Golden Konkani Melodies – Wilfy Nite to the UAE after a decade, he called upon everyone to show their wholehearted support by attending the event and spreading the word far and wide
Cultural Programme Snapshots
• The cultural activities were seamlessly managed by cultural secretary, Deepak Machado.
• The evening featured live musical performances by Annson Menezes, Carol Danthy, and Leora D’Souza.
• A comedy skit was performed by Denis Mathias, Canute D’Souza under the banner of Boskyambegaar, adding humor and charm to the evening.
• The guests enthusiastically participated in fun games that brought smiles and laughter all around.
• The formal event was gracefully compered by Roshan Menezes and Vilma Saldanha, who kept the audience engaged throughout the programme, while Vice president Laveena Tauro delivered the vote of thanks.
• Photography by Ritish Pinto and music by DJ Ashley added vibrant energy to the celebration.
