Police warn public to stay vigilant against thefts, burglaries during monsoon in Mangaluru

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 28: In light of the ongoing monsoon season, the police department has issued a public advisory urging citizens to remain cautious against potential incidents of theft and burglary.

The infamous 'Chaddi Gang' from North India, known for its involvement in house break-ins, is reportedly active across various districts of Karnataka at the onset of the rainy season.

In the past week alone, a series of thefts have been reported in nearby districts such as Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, and Madikeri. Authorities fear that this gang may soon target Mangaluru city as well.

As a preventive measure, the police have urged residents—especially those living in isolated houses or homes located at the end of streets—to stay vigilant. Citizens are also requested to report any suspicious or unfamiliar individuals in their vicinity to the police immediately.
