St Aloysius PU College launches 38 student clubs with grand inauguration

Mangaluru, Jun 28: St Aloysius PU College remains determined in its mission to provide a well-rounded education that extends beyond the confines of textbooks. Upholding this vision, the college inaugurated 38 vibrant Clubs and Associations for the academic year 2025-26 in a grand ceremony held on June 26.

The event commenced with a soulful prayer by the ‘Shastriya Sangeeta Club’ followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the principal, vice principals, deans, and club coordinators. ‘The Bollywood Dance Association’ marked the formal inauguration with an energetic performance, followed by a grand procession of Club and Association Presidents carrying placards representing their respective groups. These clubs ranging from academic to service-oriented, offer students platforms for growth and engagement.

Principal, Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ, in his address, encouraged students to actively participate in association activities. Quoting, “An apple seed’s potential harvests countless apples,” he reminded students that every individual is gifted with potential, and the greatest tragedy is not living life to the fullest potential.

‘The Dramatics Association’ staged an engaging theatrical performance that highlighted the dynamic contributions of the various clubs. Their act brought to life the core spirit of student involvement. This symbolic drama reflected the collective energy, unity, and diversity of the student body, showcasing how each club plays a vital role in shaping the vibrant culture of the institution. Further, a lively band performance by the ‘Western Music Club’, offered the audience a glimpse into the energy and diversity of the college’s student life. The programme successfully encouraged students to join these platforms that promote creativity, leadership, service, and innovation, making it a truly inspiring beginning to the academic year.

The event was graced by the presence of principal Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ, vice principals Vilma Fernandes and Muralikrishna G M, deans Kiran Shetty and Inas Dais, and the dedicated coordinators of the Clubs and Associations led by Shravya Shetty. Their support and guidance were instrumental in the successful execution of the event. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and the rendition of the College Anthem, bringing the day to a close on a note of pride and unity. The inaugural ceremony of Clubs and Associations 2025-26 truly reflected the collaborative spirit of St Aloysius PU College, promising a year filled with exploration and excellence.
