Bantwal: Loreto CBSE School organises PTA annual general body meeting

Bantwal, Jun 28: The annual general body meeting of Parent Teacher Association (PTA) was held at Loreto CBSE School. School manager Fr Francis Crasta, president of the meeting, resource person Shilpa BB, marketing editor, Rathna Sagar, principal Fr Jason Vijay Monis, and PTA vice president Sachin Noronha were present on the dias.

The programme began with a prayer led by the teachers.

Resource person Shilpa BB in her address, highlighted how the education system has evolved from the past generation to the present. She explained the key differences between the state board and the CBSE curriculum.

She also added that CBSE focuses on skill-based and activity-oriented learning, which contributes to the overall development of students and prepares them for life. She encouraged parents not to focus only on marks but also on their children’s skill growth, communication development, and personal involvement. She advised parents to spend time with their children and regularly enquire about their day at school.

Clara Moras presented the report of the general body meeting for the academic year 2024–25.

The principal, Fr Jason Vijay Monis, expressed his appreciation for the large number of parents who attended and shared updates about the school’s progress. He mentioned that Loreto School now follows the CBSE pattern from pre-KG to grade 10.

He informed about the number of newly appointed staff members and highlighted the upgraded infrastructure, including smart boards with internet connectivity. He also spoke about the changes made to the exam pattern. He then shared details about the various activities offered to students.

The school manager Fr Francis Crasta addressed the gathering, stating that the belief that CBSE is difficult is not true. He encouraged both parents and teachers to work together in creating a joyful and engaging learning environment for the students. He spoke about the supportive role of the management and how various needs have been fulfilled. He also highlighted that teachers are receiving training from experienced educators, as teaching is a continuous learning process.

The principal conducted the election for the PTA executive committee for the academic year 2025–26. A total of 25 representatives were selected voluntarily. Among them, Rodney D'Souza was elected as vice president and Saritha Sharal Pinto as secretary.

The programme was anchored by Jayashree. The welcome address was given by Kavitha, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Vinitha.
