Bengaluru horror: Woman kills pet dog in suspected occult ritual, lives with body in apartment

Bengaluru, June 29: A spine-chilling case of animal cruelty has emerged from the Mahadevapura area of Bengaluru, where a woman allegedly killed her pet dog as part of a suspected occult ritual and kept its decomposing body hidden in her apartment for days.

The accused, Triparna Paik, a resident of Mahadevapura and a native of West Bengal, is said to have slit the throat of her Labrador and wrapped the body in cloth, concealing it inside her flat. The incident only came to light after residents of the building complained of an unbearable stench.

When Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials arrived to inspect the source of the foul smell, the woman reportedly tried to block their entry and threatened to take her own life, prompting police intervention.

Once inside, authorities discovered the decayed remains of the dog and two other live dogs suffering from severe neglect. Reports suggest that Triparna earlier had four Labradors, one of which had died four months ago under unclear circumstances.

The apartment was filled with photos of deities and various ritualistic items, raising suspicion that the dog’s killing may have been linked to occult practices. A post-mortem confirmed the animal had died approximately four days earlier. The flat, which had been sealed shut with no ventilation, had become a health hazard for neighbouring residents.

The BBMP, along with animal welfare officials, has taken custody of the surviving dogs. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Officials have assured that the rescued animals will be rehabilitated, even as investigations continue into the motive behind the gruesome act.

The animal lovers treat and take care of their pets like their own child feeding, loving and attending their needs timely. This lady was following Occult rituals instead of following spiritual/Godly way of life. She has reached stage of mental suppression and disorder. Never welcome Evil powers.

what a tragedy? how can this person sacrifice an innocent animal? for her selfish stupidity? And that too she looks educated, its unpardonable act, she must be jailed for life. looking at those two ill-treated dogs, my heart goes out for them, Please set a strong precedent so that others of her kind think twice to commit such dastardly crime.
