Kundapur, July 1: A group of armed miscreants attempted to break into a house near the National Highway in Koteshwara in the early hours but the attempt was foiled after a woman inside the house raised an alarm.

The intruders opened the gate of Maxica Villa and damaged the mesh of the main door. As they tried to break the grill, the woman inside screamed and alerted the homeowners, who currently reside abroad. They immediately contacted local residents for assistance. Startled by the scream and phone calls, the miscreants fled the scene.

The attempted break-in was captured on CCTV cameras. Kundapur police rushed to the spot upon receiving information and collected details from the residents.

In recent days, similar failed house break-in attempts have been reported in Beejadi, Gopadi, and Koteshwara areas. Locals have urged police to intensify night patrolling in Moodugopadi, Vakvadi, and surrounding regions.
