Brahmavar, Jul 4: Sri Narisimhashrama Swamiji, the head of Baalekudru Math, passed away on Friday July 4. He was 55.

The Swamiji was being taken for his routine dialysis treatment on Friday morning when he experienced a sudden deterioration in health near Brahmavar. Though he was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Udupi, he passed away en route.

The mortal remains of the Swamiji have now been brought back to Baalekudru Math and placed for devotees to pay their final respects. According to sources from the Math, rituals will be performed later in the evening under the guidance of junior seer Sri Vasudeva Sadashivashrama Swamiji.

After the demise of his predecessor Shankarashrama Swamiji, Sri Narisimhashrama Swamiji assumed the peethadhipathi (headship) of Baalekudru Math in 2006. He had received Sannyasa Deeksha from Sri Narayanashrama Swamiji of Hebbur Math under the spiritual guidance of the senior seers of Sringeri Sharada Peetham.

For several years, the Swamiji had been battling multiple health issues and was undergoing dialysis twice a week.
