Udupi, Jul 4: The Udupi branch of the Subrahmanya Math, named Anantha Shri, was inaugurated on Friday, July 4, in Udupi by Sri Sri Dr Vidyaprasanna Teertha Swamiji, the pontiff of Sri Vishnuteertha Peetham, the original seat of Sri Jagadguru Madhvacharya Moola Mahasamsthanam.

In the divine presence of Sri Vidyaprasanna Teertha Swamiji, the head of the Sri Samputa Narasimha Swamy Subrahmanya Math, the event was marked by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji, the pontiff of the Puthige Math, and junior pontiff Sri Sushreendra Teertha Swamiji.

The occasion was also graced by Sri Vamana Teertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math and Sri Sadyojata Shankarashrama Swamiji of Chitrapur Math. On this auspicious occasion, special paada pooje (ritual of worshipping the feet) was offered to the revered seers.
