Sagar, Jul 4: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old youth allegedly died by suicide while livestreaming the act on Instagram in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district, police said on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Rahul Ahirwar from Shahpur town, reportedly took the extreme step due to a love affair. “When Rahul was about to hang himself, his brother alerted a local youth, urging him to intervene. However, by the time the youth reached Rahul’s home, it was too late,” said Bharat Singh, in-charge of Shahpur police station.

During the Instagram live, Rahul expressed heartbreak, saying, “This is my last day. I don't want to live friends... Never love anyone in life... now you all watch live.”

Police rushed to the spot after being alerted and began an investigation. The family of the deceased has alleged that a YouTuber from Chhatarpur cheated Rahul, leading to the tragedy. “We are probing the allegations and appropriate action will be taken based on evidence,” the police official said.

A case has been registered and further inquiries are underway.
