Udupi: Jyothi Krishna Hebbar takes charge as president of district Mahila Congress

Udupi, Jul 5: Jyothi Krishna Hebbar took charge as the president of Udupi district Mahila Congress in the installation ceremony of newly elected president and office bearers held at Sri Narayana Guru Auditorium, Bannanje on July 4.

Speaking on the occasion, Sowmya Reddy, president, Karnataka Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, said, “Congress has empowered women. It is necessary to build a party organisation that can become a model for the entire country. Everyone should work to make people aware about the guarantee scheme by going to every door step. The party organisation must run systematically with dedication. The motive of politics must be the welfare of people, only when we work in groups, will we succeed. BJP did not give any Bhagya, instead they are sowing the poisonous seed in the name of caste and religion.”

MLC Manjunath Bhandary said that Mahila Congress should become strong for the party to continue in power.

Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, said, “Congress works in providing economic support to women. Socialism and secularism are the aspirations of our society.”

Former president of Udupi district Mahila Congress Geetha Wagle welcomed the gathering. Satish Kodavoor, Sucharita Kaup compered the event.
