Sullia police arrest dacoity accused absconding for 3 years from Tamil Nadu

Sullia, Jul 5: The Sullia police have arrested a man who had been absconding for over three years in connection with a dacoity case reported on March 20, 2022, in Chettakallu, a village in Sampaje under the Sullia police station limits.

In the incident, a sum of Rs 1,50,000 in cash and a mobile phone were looted from a house.

The accused, identified as Sudhakar Arumugam (42), a resident of Thiruvarur in Tamil Nadu, had gone into hiding soon after the crime.

On July 4, 2025, Sullia police successfully apprehended the accused in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and produced him before the competent court. The court has since remanded the accused to judicial custody.
