Bengaluru, Jul 8: Karnataka home minister Dr G Parameshwara has revealed that over 200 illegal Bangladeshi migrants have been deported from the state over the past few months.
Speaking to the media, the minister stated that complaints had been received against several such migrants, particularly those working as construction labourers. The state government has taken immediate steps to deport illegal immigrants, and the process is ongoing, he added.

Dr Parameshwara explained that officials from the regional registration office identify illegal migrants and inform the police. "We are keeping a close watch on construction workers. If found to be illegal immigrants, they are deported," he said.
Dismissing claims that the government is being lenient towards illegal migrants, Dr Parameshwara firmly denied allegations that the Congress uses them as a vote bank. "The party has never and will never rely on illegal migrants for electoral gains," he asserted.
