Bengaluru, Jul 11: In a significant move to strengthen public education and support students from economically weaker sections, the Congress-led Karnataka government has announced a new initiative offering free bus transportation to students studying in government schools from LKG to PUC.
Deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar shared the announcement on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the state government has decided to introduce free bus services for students enrolled in Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) across the state. He emphasized that this step is aimed at bolstering government schools and improving student attendance and educational quality.

Shivakumar added that the decision is a major step towards facilitating access to education for students in Karnataka Public Schools and ensuring they face no transportation hurdles.
The free bus service initiative is expected to benefit thousands of students and will particularly assist those from underprivileged backgrounds, making quality education more accessible and equitable.
