Mangaluru, Jul 13: A free skin health and awareness camp was successfully conducted on Sunday, July 13 at the meeting hall of St Sebastian Church, Bendur. The camp was jointly organized by the health commission and family commission in association with K S Hegde Medical Academy, under the expert guidance of Dr Tonita Mariola Noronha, professor and head, Department of Dermatology, and her team.
The camp was inaugurated by Fr Walter D’Souza, vicar of Bendur parish. Also present on the occasion were Vinod D’Souza, vice president, Patsy Britto, secretary, Dr Susan Rasquinha, health commission convenor and Nevil Pereira, family commission convenor.




















The camp offered consultations for skin, hair, nail, and genital health. A dedicated team of dermatologists Dr Tanvi Pramod, Dr Mihideen Abdul Rahman and support staff provided personal consultations and guidance to the patients.
More than 100 patients availed the benefits of the camp and received expert consultation from the dermatology team. The camp was well received by the community, and patients appreciated the personal attention and clarity provided on various dermatological issues. A few patients were referred for further follow-up due to chronic or rare skin conditions.
The smooth coordination and volunteer support made the camp highly effective and impactful. Parishioners expressed gratitude for this health initiative.
Dr Susan Rasquinha, health commission convenor, welcomed the medical team. A formal vote of thanks was proposed by Dr LG Jose, secretary of the health commission.
The initiative was well-received and appreciated by the parishioners, contributing significantly to the community’s health awareness.
