Hyderabad, Jul 15: A casual game of cricket took a grim turn in Nampally, Hyderabad, when a local man's search for a lost ball led to the discovery of a human skeleton inside an abandoned house that had reportedly been locked up for over seven years.
The shocking find occurred when the man entered the deserted property in pursuit of his ball and stumbled upon skeletal remains lying face down on the kitchen floor. A video recorded by the man has since gone viral, showing a skull and scattered bones amid utensils and sand-covered floors, underscoring the long abandonment of the house.

According to reports, forensic experts were immediately called to the scene and have collected samples for investigation. Authorities say the exact identity of the deceased will be confirmed only after the mortuary releases a full report.
ACP Kishan Kumar told NDTV that the house belongs to Muneer Khan, who has 10 children. The fourth-born son, described as a 50-year-old unmarried man with possible mental health issues, was the last known occupant of the home.
“He has likely been dead for several years. Even the bones were crumbling,” ACP Kumar said, suggesting the death appeared natural, with no signs of struggle or blood found at the scene.
The house, located in a densely populated area, had remained unoccupied for years, and locals say they had assumed it was simply locked and unused. The house owner is said to be living abroad, while other family members reside in different locations.
Police are now working to contact the deceased’s relatives and piece together the circumstances surrounding his solitary life and silent death. An inquest report is expected to shed more light on the case.
The discovery has left the neighbourhood stunned, raising questions about neglected homes and isolated individuals in urban settings.
