Mangaluru: Hakuna Matata Club’s birdwatching trip fosters love for nature

Media Release

Mangaluru, July 15: Children of the Hakuna Matata Club participated in a birdwatching trip on Sunday, aimed at fostering a closer connection with nature. The young nature enthusiasts were thrilled to spot a variety of birds including bulbuls, kingfishers, peacocks, and cuckoos.

The activity also introduced the children to new bird species through visual aids. They engaged in hands-on experiences by building nests using coconut husk, hay, and twigs, and creating bird feeders from coconut shells filled with bajra and rice.

The outdoor experience encouraged patience, observation skills, and empathy towards living beings. A gentle drizzle added to the charm of the day, offering a refreshing break from classrooms and screens. The trip also contributed to the children’s social and emotional well-being, resilience, and left them with lasting memories.
