Udupi, Jul 15: In a significant development in the ongoing Parashurama Theme Park controversy, Karkala police have officially submitted a chargesheet in the matter. Following this, Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar addressed the media, strongly defending the project and lashing out at the Congress party for what he termed a politically motivated campaign of misinformation.

Responding to the developments, Sunil Kumar said, “The allegations made repeatedly by the Congress party have now been proven false through the chargesheet filed by the police. They claimed the Parashurama statue was made of fiber, which is a complete lie. The expert report clearly states that it is made of brass, not fiber,” he asserted.

He criticized Congress for launching a state-wide misinformation campaign, saying, “They have tried to portray it as a fiber statue and ruin the reputation of Karkala. We built this with a new concept and vision. But Congress made baseless allegations out of political hatred,” he said.

Sunil Kumar accused the government of making false allegations against the opposition, he said “They tried to target opposition leaders by misusing investigative agencies. In the case of the theme park, they delayed it for two years. If there was any variation in material quality, I said go ahead and investigate. But don’t insult Karkala with false propaganda,” he added.

Urging the government to release the remaining funds immediately, Sunil Kumar said “If this government has no interest in completing the project, let them leave it. Even if we have to beg from the people, we will complete it. I am not a metallurgist. First, they said it was cement, then plastic, later fiber. Now they say the GST is incorrect. Let the officials clarify all those matters. Let the court decide on all matters. Let there be an inquiry into any deviations in the agreement. We will not interfere in the investigation,” he stated
