Prosecuting Corrupt Officials: Court Sets Deadline for Government


New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS) The Supreme Court Tuesday said the government has to decide within three months whether or not to give sanction on an application seeking prosecution of a public servant under the prevention of corruption act.

The apex court said this while allowing a petition by Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy saying Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was sitting on his application seeking sanction for prosecution of former telecom minister A. Raja for alleged involvement in the 2G scam.
