Mangaluru, Jul 16: Milagres College, Mangaluru, hosted the sixth edition of its flagship ‘Career Connect’ mega job fair on Wednesday, July 16, at the college campus.
The event was inaugurated by Walter D’Souza, former chairman of FIEO and a member of the college’s internal quality assurance cell (IQAC), who served as the chief guest.






















The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Vijayalaxmi K, president of the parent-teacher association (PTA); Ariana D’Cunha, president of MICAA; Dr Michael Santhumayor, principal; Chethana Kumari, IQAC co-ordinator; and Anju Elsa Thomas, placement officer and event co-ordinator.
In his keynote address, Walter D’Souza highlighted the evolving nature of employment in today’s dynamic job market. He urged job aspirants to continuously upgrade their skills to remain competitive and seize opportunities aligned with industry demands.
In his presidential address, Fr Bonaventure Nazareth spoke on the role of educational institutions in creating career opportunities for students. He appreciated the college’s commitment to student success and employment readiness.
Dr Michael Santhumayor welcomed the gathering and emphasised the importance of career fairs as a bridge between academic learning and practical employment.
The formal programme was compered by Lenisha Peris, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Anju Elsa Thomas.
The job fair featured 65 renowned companies from various sectors, including Amazon, Kia Motors, ICICI Bank, Sham Career Hub Pvt Ltd, Rohan Corporation, Mohtisham, Jos Alukkas, and Joy Alukkas. These companies together offered nearly 3,000 job openings across multiple domains.
The event drew an impressive turnout of over 1,700 job seekers, including students and alumni of Milagres College, making the fair a resounding success.
