Mangaluru: Srinivas University organises orientation programme 2025 for UG courses

Mangaluru, Jul 16: Srinivas University Institute of Management and Commerce, organised an orientation programme 2025 for its undergraduate courses on July 16 at City Campus, Pandeshwara, Mangaluru. The event aimed to welcome the new batch of students and provide them with an insight into the university’s vision, values, and academic environment.

The programme was presided over by Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, honourable chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation. In his inspiring presidential address, he emphasised that Srinivas University not only imparts subject knowledge but also nurtures students to become responsible human beings.

He encouraged students to take their academic journey seriously, highlighting the importance of skill development and the need to stay alert and focused to seize the opportunities ahead. "This three-year journey is a 'Tapasya' that will help you enjoy the rest of your life," he remarked.

Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor of Srinivas University, in his address, stated that students of management are the future administrators of the nation, companies, and the economy. He urged students to utilise the opportunity to train themselves professionally. "Never miss the train grab all opportunities to succeed in life," he advised.

Vijayalakshmi R Rao, trustee member of the Board of Governors, advised students to apply management not just in academics but in all aspects of life home, work, and personal decisions emphasising that this holistic approach leads to success.

Dr K Satyanarayan Reddy, vice-chancellor of Srinivas University, elaborated on the university's offerings, infrastructure, and academic excellence.

The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Dr Shailashree V T, symbolising the students' formal induction into the university community.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar (development).

The gathering was welcomed by Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean of the Institute of Management and Commerce. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Sharmila Shetty, head of the department of BCom. The event was compered by Prof Diya Shetty and Prof Hansel Rego.
