Mangaluru, Jul 17: Srinivas University Institute of Port Shipping and Logistics Management, Srinivas University, organised its Orientation Programme 2025 on July 17 at the City Campus, Pandeshwara, Mangaluru.
The event was held to welcome the new batch of undergraduate students and provide them an overview of the university’s vision, academic environment, and opportunities in the field of port, shipping, and logistics.
The programme was held under the guidance of Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, honourable chancellor of Srinivas University and president of the A Shama Rao Foundation.
Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor of Srinivas University, presided over the programme and delivered the keynote address. He highlighted that Srinivas University was the first in Karnataka to introduce a dedicated institute for Port, Shipping, and Logistics Management, recognising the growing demand for professionals in global trade. He emphasised the importance of practical exposure, citing the university’s collaboration with New Mangalore Port, and encouraged students to approach the course with professionalism, passion, and a spirit of active participation.








The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Prof Er Mitra S Rao, trustee member of the Board of Governors. In her address, she inspired students to wholeheartedly embrace their academic journey. “Fall in love with your course—when you are passionate, success will follow. Build your life with care, attention, and big dreams,” she said.
The programme was also graced by Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar (Development), who extended his best wishes to the new students on their academic journey.
Dr K Satyanarayan Reddy, vice-chancellor of Srinivas University, elaborated on the university's offerings, infrastructure, and academic excellence.
The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean of the Institute. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Souparnika, head of the Department. The programme was compered by Prof Akshatha Samson and Prof Elson Dsouza Hirgan.
