Kota, Jul 20: In a tragic incident reported from Kota’s Pratap Nagar area, an 18-year-old class 12 student was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his rented house late Friday night.

The deceased, Atharv Saxena, hailed from Bundi city and was residing in Kota with his mother and younger brother. His father, who runs a grocery shop in Bundi, visited the family once a week.

Atharv was pursuing his education at a private school in Kota. According to Circle Inspector Devesh Bhardwaj, the teen allegedly ended his life following emotional distress, reportedly caused by frequent parental nagging over smoking.

A suicide note recovered from his room did not blame anyone directly but hinted at his frustration over the repeated accusations. In the note, the teen maintained that he never smoked.

Police shifted him to MBS Hospital upon receiving information, but doctors declared him brought dead.

His body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem was conducted on Saturday. A case has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) for unnatural death.
