Mangaluru, July 20: A KSRTC NURM city bus rammed into the compound wall and stairway of a house at Land Links Township near Derebail here on Saturday evening after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The incident occurred around 4:30 pm when the NURM city bus, operating on the Land Links–Bajal Padpu route, had just dropped off passengers at its last stop and was attempting to turn around for the return journey. During the manoeuvre, the driver lost control, causing the bus to break through the compound wall of a nearby house and collide with the steps leading to the terrace.

The front portion of the bus was damaged in the impact, and the house compound wall and stairway also suffered damage. It is reported that the house was unoccupied at the time, as the owners reside elsewhere.

Only a few people, including the driver and conductor, were in the bus during the incident. No injuries were reported. The matter has been settled amicably, and no police case has been registered, officials confirmed.
