New Delhi, Jul 21: A shocking video of a train passenger shamelessly stealing food items from vendors inside a crowded coach has gone viral on social media, drawing sharp criticism and calls for action.
The footage shows the man seated on the upper berth, smiling as he steals a juice packet from a vendor’s bag while pretending to engage with him. His actions don't stop there he is later seen taking pakoras and water bottles from other vendors passing by. Shockingly, co-passengers watch and laugh, failing to object or stop the act.

The clip has drawn widespread condemnation online. “He thinks stealing from poor vendors is comedy. This guy needs to be detained,” read the caption of the viral post shared on X.
Social media users tagged the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and railway authorities demanding strict action. “He is proud of himself. Look at that smile,” said one user, while another added, “What’s more disturbing is the silence of those around him.”
Some questioned the societal response, saying the co-passengers’ laughter was equally troubling. “Where is the rule of law if such acts are not even called out by fellow citizens?” a user asked.
The incident has sparked debate over public accountability and passenger behaviour, with many urging railway officials to trace and penalise the man seen in the video. Authorities are yet to issue a formal statement.
