Mangaluru: Yenepoya Institutions celebrate their investiture ceremony

Mangaluru, Jul 22: The Yenepoya School, The Yenepoya World School, and The Yenepoya PU College conjointly celebrated their investiture ceremony at Yendurance, the institutions’ state-of-the-art auditorium in Mangaluru. The event marked a significant milestone in the academic calendar, honouring student leadership across the campuses.

The ceremonial proceedings commenced with a stirring welcome by the school band, setting a dignified tone for the occasion. This was followed by an invocation seeking divine benediction and a soulful rendition of the school anthem by the school choir.

Anthony Joseph, associate director of Yenepoya Institutions, extended a warm welcome to the assemblage. The chief guest, Brigadier I N Rai, was accorded a ceremonial welcome with the presentation of a sapling, symbolizing growth and leadership. A student representative from the PU College then discoursed on the significance of the investiture ceremony, underscoring its role in empowering student leaders.

The event reached its zenith with the investiture of the newly elected cabinet members, who were conferred badges and sashes in a solemn moment of recognition. The incoming leaders took an oath of duty and responsibility, administered by Anthony Joseph and Uzwal Rodney Menezes, principal of Yenepoya PU College. Subsequently, the head boys, head girls, president, and secretary shared their perspectives on leadership, reflecting on the responsibilities ahead.

Brigadier I N Rai, a veteran of the Defence Services, delivered a keynote address to the gathering, imparting valuable insights into the essence of leadership. He emphasized the importance of physical endurance, moral integrity, and intellectual clarity as foundational traits for future leaders.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Uzwal Rodney Menezes, followed by the national anthem symbolizing unity, pride, and patriotism.
