Trump hails 'Zero-Tariff' deal with Philippines, lauds Marcos

Daijiworld Media Network – Washington

Washington, Jul 23: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday claimed a new trade deal with the Philippines would allow American goods to enter the country tariff-free, while the US would levy a 19% tariff on Philippine imports — calling it a “successful” agreement.

Trump made the remarks after Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s visit to the White House, describing the meeting as a ‘beautiful visit’ and calling Marcos a ‘very good, and tough, negotiator.’

The two leaders also reportedly discussed deeper military cooperation. “We extend our warmest regards to the wonderful people of The Philippines!” Trump said in a post.
