Sitamarhi, Jul 23: A tragic incident unfolded in Nepal as a young man from Bihar’s Sitamarhi district was brutally murdered while on a pilgrimage. The victim, Pankaj Kumar, had travelled with friends to visit the Madhuganga Mahadev temple in Nepal’s Sindhuli district when he was shot and stabbed to death late Sunday night.
His body, bearing multiple stab wounds and a gunshot injury, was recovered by Nepal Police from the Langur Khola area on Monday. Following a post-mortem, his elder brother Ranjeet Kumar brought the body back to their native village on Tuesday.

According to the family, Nepal’s Sindhuli District Police have registered a murder case and named Avnish Kumar Das, along with unidentified accomplices, as the main accused. As per the complaint, Pankaj was resting in a cowshed when Avnish allegedly shot him with a pistol and stabbed him repeatedly. The assailants reportedly fled the scene when locals began to gather.
The motive behind the gruesome killing remains unknown, and the family believes only the friends who accompanied Pankaj to Nepal may hold answers. Nepal Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
