Mangaluru: Podar International School students spread joy through monthly donation drives

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 23: As part of the ongoing Podar volunteer programme 2025-26, students of Podar International School, Mangaluru, took part in two heartwarming outreach activities on July 21 fostering values of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility.

Grade 5 students visited Asare Animal Care Trust, where they contributed essential supplies such as animal feed and medicines. The visit was part of the school’s monthly donation drive, with each class playing a key role in collecting specific items needed by the shelter. The young volunteers spent time learning about animal welfare and left with hearts full of joy and a deeper sense of kindness towards voiceless beings.

Simultaneously, grade 4 students visited Balasamrakshana Kendra, Kuthar, as part of the same programme. Students from across the grade generously donated groceries and everyday essentials, specifically assigned to their respective classes. The visit gave students a valuable opportunity to understand the importance of community support and the joy of giving.

Both initiatives under the Podar volunteer programme reflect the school’s strong emphasis on holistic education, instilling in students not just academic excellence, but also a spirit of service and humanity.
