New Delhi, Jul 25: A shocking crime has come to light in the national capital where a 14-year-old boy was brutally murdered and sexually assaulted by a group of 13 individuals, many of them minors, in an apparent act of revenge. The victim’s body was discovered in Delhi’s Munak Canal on July 1, bearing 24 stab wounds and signs of brutal sexual assault, according to police.

Police said the crime took place on the night of June 29–30, allegedly planned by 19-year-old Krishna alias Bhola. He believed the boy had tipped off his rivals, the Badhwar brothers—Monu and Sonu—who had earlier attacked Krishna. The brothers are currently in jail under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) for their involvement in criminal activities including illicit liquor trade and robberies.

The boy was abducted near Veer Chowk Bazar, thrashed in front of his friends, and then taken to a secluded spot near the canal. There, the group took turns stabbing him, stripped him naked, and subjected him to sexual assault, police said. His body was later dumped in the canal.

A PCR call led police to the site at 3.10 pm on July 1. “The body was completely naked, slightly decomposed, with multiple stab injuries and a scarf around the neck,” said DCP Outer North Hareshwar Swami. The post-mortem confirmed 24 stab wounds and blunt force injuries to his private parts, confirming sexual assault. Based on this, Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was added.

In a dramatic operation on July 18, Delhi Police disguised themselves as Kanwar Yatra pilgrims to track three accused hiding in a camp in Meerut. The arrests were made with the help of local police. During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed and revealed the names of three more individuals involved in the murder—Deepak, Chandan and Sachin.

So far, ten accused, including Krishna, have been taken into custody. Efforts are on to arrest the remaining three. Police said they would request the court to try those above the age of 16 as adults, given the extreme brutality of the crime.

The police are working closely with legal teams to ensure the strictest punishment for the accused. The case has sent shockwaves through the city, raising deep concerns about rising juvenile involvement in heinous crimes and the brutal culture of gang rivalry among youth.
