Mumbai, Jul 31: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai has submitted a proposal to the Maharashtra government to set up a satellite campus in or around Mumbai, the institute announced on Wednesday.
The proposed campus aims to offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in key disciplines such as economics, finance, technology, data science, and law. A detailed financial and infrastructure plan has been submitted to the state's Department of Higher and Technical Education.

IIM Mumbai said the initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the "Viksit Maharashtra 2047" vision, aiming to transform Mumbai into a global hub for finance, policy, and education.
“This proposal is a rare opportunity to institutionalise excellence in management education with a core emphasis on finance and technology,” said IIM Mumbai Director Manoj K Tiwari. “The proximity to regulators and institutions will give students unique exposure to live policy and innovation frameworks.”
