Mangaluru, July 31: A 22-year-old woman from Odisha, who had been admitted to a shelter home in Mangaluru, has gone missing after escaping from the premises. Police have issued a lookout notice and are seeking public assistance in tracing her.
The woman, identified as Trisha, a resident of Utkal village in Kalahandi district of Odisha, was earlier found wandering in the Kankanady police station limits and was admitted to the Prajna Swadhara Centre in Mudipu on July 18, 2024, by Kankanady police. On the evening of July 30, 2025, at around 7.44 pm, she allegedly forced open the rear kitchen door of the shelter home and fled by jumping over the compound wall. She has been missing since.

Trisha is the daughter of Akash and Manani. She is around 4 feet tall, dark-complexioned, and of sturdy build, with black hair. She has studied up to Class 5 and can speak Hindi and Odia. At the time of her escape, she was wearing a white chudidar top and blue leggings.
Based on a complaint filed by the superintendent of the shelter home, a missing person’s case has been registered at Konaje police station under Crime No. 89/2025.
