Bengaluru, Aug 2: In a major breakthrough, Bengaluru police have arrested three individuals for allegedly sending obscene messages to popular Sandalwood actress Ramya, also known as the 'Queen of Sandalwood'. The actress has appreciated the swift and decisive action taken by the police.
Sharing her response through her official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Ramya expressed satisfaction over the arrests and said that those who wrong others cannot escape the law. “Action has been taken against those who tried to tarnish a woman's dignity. I am grateful to the Bengaluru police,” she wrote, praising the force for their commitment to justice.

The incident comes in the wake of Ramya publicly supporting the family of Renukaswamy in the murder case involving actor Darshan. Following her stand, several fans of Darshan allegedly targeted her with vulgar and threatening messages online.
Taking a bold stand, Ramya made the offensive accounts public and filed a formal complaint against 43 such profiles. Responding swiftly, the city police launched an investigation and detained 11 suspects for questioning.
Out of those, three have been arrested so far in connection with the case. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow as authorities continue to track down those involved in online harassment.
Ramya’s courage and the prompt response by Bengaluru Police have drawn praise from various quarters, sending a strong message against cyber abuse and online harassment.
