Muzaffarnagar, Aug 3: In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, a man was allegedly stabbed multiple times by his wife at their residence on Saturday evening, leaving him seriously injured. The man, identified as Asif, claimed that he was attacked after he caught his wife Saira with another man inside their house.
According to Asif, the couple had been married for four years and he had recently returned from Saudi Arabia, where he was working for nearly 1.5 years. “I came back on the 10th of last month. When I returned home with food, I saw my wife in a compromising position with another man. He ran away, and in anger, my wife stabbed me thrice—on my chest, arm, and back,” he told the media from the hospital bed.

Asif said his cries alerted neighbours who rushed in and took him to a nearby hospital. Visuals from the hospital showed clear stab wounds and fresh stitches on his body.
He also alleged bias in the police action, claiming, “There should be equal laws for men and women. The police are taking her side just because she is a woman.”
The couple reportedly has no children, and Asif alleged that his wife had taken abortion pills a few years ago.
Meanwhile, police offered a different version of the incident. Circle Officer Raju Kumar Sao stated, “Preliminary investigation suggests that the stabbing happened during a fight over the husband’s drinking habits. The wife, frustrated with his behaviour, attacked him. She is currently on the run.”
He added that while Asif has alleged infidelity, no concrete evidence has emerged yet to support his claims. Authorities are continuing their investigation and efforts are on to trace the absconding woman.
