Bantwal: Ganiga Seva Sangha holds student scholarship distribution, felicitates achievers

Bantwal, Aug 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a proud member of the Ganiga community, has worked tirelessly over the past 11 years to elevate India's global stature and transform it into a strong nation, said MP Capt Brijesh Chowta. He noted that Modi’s journey as Prime Minister serves as an inspiration to all.

He was speaking at the student scholarship distribution and achievers felicitation programme organized by the Bantwal Taluk Ganiga Seva Sangha at the Sumangala Sabhavana in Panemangalore on Sunday.

Presiding over the programme was Sangha president Krishnappa Ganiga.

Speaking after inaugurating the event, MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipady assured that the government would support the Ganiga community in modernizing their traditional professions through mechanization.

Former minister B Ramanath Rai, who felicitated meritorious students, stated that mechanization of Ganiga enterprises would help generate employment opportunities.

Dr Durga Prasad from Nitte Engineering College delivered an educational lecture on the occasion.

International weightlifting record-holder Adarsh Bharat Ganiga from Attavara was honoured by MP Capt Brijesh Chowta.

Others who extended their greetings included Uday Kumar, trustee of Barkur Shri Venugopal Temple; former president of Mangaluru Karavali Credit Society Tejpal; current president A S Venkatesh; president of Sumangala Credit Society Nagesh Kalladka; entrepreneurs Madhav S Maave and Ramakrishna Barkur; and district Ganiga Sangha vice-president Ramesh Mendon.

Also present were Nalini Prasad, president, Panjikallu GP; Sadashiva Barimaru, president, Barimaru GP; Harish V Palthaje, president, Kedila GP; Ranjini, vice-president, Baltile GP; and Padmanabha Idkidu, vice-president, Idkidu GP.

Notables in attendance included Anil Kumar Attavara, engineer Santosh Manihalla, Vikram Ganiga Sajipa, Narsappa Ameen, Bhuvanesh Mogarnadu, Sachin Melkar, Nityanand Sapalya, Vedava Ganiga, among others.

Several meritorious students and international weightlifter Adarsh Bharat Ganiga were felicitated during the programme.

Balakrishna Serkala, the association’s secretary, delivered the welcome address while Vasant P. proposed the vote of thanks. The event was compered by Triveni.
